Notes
- The four Santa Fe locos above had been remanufactured by Morrison-Knudsen in the mid-1970s
for the Delaware & Hudson, and they were sold years later to NdeM (Mexico). D&H 16 And 19
were returned to the U.S. for restoration.
- Argentina was the only place in the "Americas" where Alco-built cab units were still
being used in daily freight service by the early 21st Century. Pictured here is an example
of an Alco (DL500) "World Locomotive". The 1800-horsepower was a cousin to Montreal Locomotive
Works's FPA-4 passenger power. Introduced in 1953, most "World Locomotives" were powered by
Alco's 251B V12 engine and rode atop six-wheel trucks.
