VIA FPAs: A Perspective

Jim Koglin photo

Soon after VIA Rail took title to the fleet of FPA4s in 1978, a red bi-lingual "VIA" logo began to grace the yellow nose of the MLW-built cab units; the practice did not last very long. By mid-1986 many of the nose logos had been permanently removed. One exception was VIA FPA2u 6758, which featured a very rare blue VIA logo. This July 4th 1986 photo by Jim Koglin shows the four-axle passenger hauler making a station stop at Brantford with Train #83. (Jim Koglin photo)
