This section houses all website files related specifically to the American Locomotive Company, more commonly referred to as Alco. The New York-based company ceased operation in 1969, after 127 years of steam and diesel-electric locomotive manufacture. Many of the company's locomotive and engine designs have survived long afterwards. The railfan community at-large has helped collect, assemble and present the information which is mostly historical in nature. We are truly grateful for their assistance.
